Grammar Quest FAQ
Is Grammar Quest free?
Yes. You can play the game in your browser without creating an account. Gems and Pumpkin Coins are earned in the game; they are not real money.
Does the game save my progress?
Your progress, rewards, detective name and outfit are stored in this browser on this device. Use the same browser and www.englishgrammar.online to return to your adventure. Private browsing, blocked storage or clearing website data can prevent or remove saves; progress does not sync between devices.
Can I play on a phone or tablet?
The game is designed for touch controls as well as a mouse and keyboard. On a small screen, you may need to scroll sideways inside a sentence diagram to see all of it.
What can I practice after making a mistake?
Read the explanation first, then use the Cold Case file when a missed puzzle becomes available again. You can also replay unlocked stages for more practice.
Can I play with the music or sounds turned off?
Yes. Use Music and Sounds in the top header to switch them off separately. Your choices are remembered in this browser. Music stays gentle during puzzles, turns playfully spooky for Halloween and picks up the pace for boss battles; all audio pauses when you leave the tab.
How do I earn the Boss Blitz badge?
Finish Chapter 1 to unlock Boss Rush on the game home screen. Then beat all five Chapter 1 bosses in one run lasting less than five minutes. The shared timer starts when you press Start Boss Rush, keeps running between fights and while you are away from the tab, and stops on the winning answer against the fifth boss.
Losing a battle, leaving the challenge or running out of time ends that attempt. You can start a fresh attempt from the first boss. Previous wins outside Boss Rush do not count toward the badge. After earning it, claim the badge on the home screen for five gems.
Do Halloween pets boost Pumpkin Coins?
Yes. Equip a Halloween pet from the Halloween shop to boost the Pumpkin Coins you earn from Halloween stages and boss battles. The shop shows each pet's gem and Pumpkin Coin multipliers. Halloween pets also keep their gem boost in the main adventure; regular pets boost gems only.
Pet boosts do not multiply coins already in your bank, change shop prices or increase fixed badge-claim rewards. Rewards are rounded to whole coins after the boost.
Why does Lord Mumble get his hearts back?
Lord Mumble has two rounds with five hearts each. When you defeat him the first time, an elf arrives and restores five hearts for the final round. You need ten correct hits in total, and the elf can revive him only once per attempt. Your own hearts do not refill.
